Fall Alterted bottles.

This was a easy craft to do. I used coffee bottles from aldies.I drink their iced coffee. First I cut strips of yellow paper and used elmers glue and glued them around the bottles. Then I went outside with my DD and we gathered leaves, used the glue and glued them on the paper. and your done! Thats it.

four years ago today

I had dropped my daughter off at my grandparents after a night of trick or treating- and went and had dinner with my husband. we had chinese food. We went and spent the night at my friend stina's house who lived by the hospital. She had people over watching movies I just remember being tired and going right to bed. I woke up to use the bathroom at about 4 am and my water broke all over her bathroom floor. My c-section was schedualed for 10 am. My husband and I got things ready and headed to the hospital no progress was made they went ahead and did the c-section- at 10:15 am I gave birth to a 9 1b 10 ounce baby boy with black hair and blue eyes and i fell in love with him for life.
He had my heart the first time I looked at him and it has been an adventure ever since. Now my little boy is four years old and thinks Halloween is one big party for him... we wouldnt have it any other way.

Freaky Fridays(more kansas ghost stories)

Local hauntings in the topeka/lawrence area

(1) The capital building:it is said a woman killed herself by jumping off the stairway leading up to the dome.sometimes you can hear footsteps and her crying.

(2)Dorthy Thomas school of dance: the studio has been in the basement of a home since the 1940's. Dorthy died in the 1980's.You can hear what sounds like 100 people tap dancing at 3 am, the stereo goes on and off a broken down piano plays Sweet Georgia brown and Tea for two all by its self, you hear footsteps in the attic.

Stull, Kansas(urband legend, or truth. you guess.

I don't live very far from the little town called Stull Kansas. I have driven through it a lot I refuse to drive down that road at night by myself. It's a town with a big hill that has a cemetery on it and a lot of urban legend surrounding it. I get a weird feeling every time I drive threw and just feel so relived to be out of it. Legends say that these urban legends have been linked to stull for more than a hundred years.Noithing made it to print until the 1970s. In the KU newspaper,it was asserted that the cementery in stull was one of the two places on earth where the devil makes his appearence twice a year.It is reported that there was a pine tree in the cememtery and witches were hung there during the spring equinox and that a town man was reported missing only to be found hanging from the tree! They chopped the tree down but it grew twice the size.It is also said that the church in the cemetary is one of the seven gateways to hell and that is why the pope refuses to fly over kansas. Time is said to stop if you enter into the remains of the church. You can throw anything in the church and it won't hit the floor. Rain will not fall in the church(This was before it was torn down)You can never reach the bottom of the stairs going to the basement. etc. Is it fact or fiction? If your ever in Topeka or Lawrence Kansas take a little side trip and find out! But I more than likely, won't be going with you!

Applebutter

Sat, the day I wasn't able to make it they spent the day coring and peeling the apples getting them ready to be cooked. Sunday we got there about 11 am. We spent the day cooking the applebutter and making apple cider..MM was the apple cider good. A few brave souls showed up around 700 am to get the fire lit and to put the apples in the kettle pot. We use a big paddle type stick to stir the apples as they melt to make the applebutter. Thuis process takes about 7-8 hours. You just spend the whole day stiring. Towards the end my grandpa adds the sugar and cinnamon and some other spices. We also had some type of machine that chopped the apples and turned it into apple cider. The kids mainily did this all day. It was a fun day filled with food, family togetherness and music.
